Toulouse – Carcassonne
Good afternoon dear readers !
As I’m getting lost in my « Ecosse 2015 » pictures, I’m already preparing my next journey (yes I know, Scottish again…) I still spent a bit of time to visit…our Belle France. The 20th of February , I tagged along my dear Francois at his toulousian book signing, at The BD Fugue bookshop. We spent a lovely Saturday in really great compagny, thanks to their welcoming team ! We had a stroll through the pretty pink city, whose nicknamed was well earned during this sunny day ; The light made the city’s colors stand out even more.
The next day, we took advantage of the return to stopover in Carcassone to visit the City, which I had never seen in real life, as I was dreaming about it for a while. Now it’s a done deal !
The city was really pretty…mostly the outside. In its surrounding wall, way too touristic shops and snacks proliferate and obviously waste the scenery ; even though I absolutely don’t regret this visit. The fortress itself was worth the trip and I recommend the spot.
Even more, as I have had for a long time a certain fascination for Violet-le-Duc and I’m delighted to have been able to see the gorgeous renovations.
