This is not the first time we see that charming village of Estaing. when driving to meet our friend Jean-Luc Marcastel, a writer living in the lovely Cantal region. But until that day, we never stopped : each time we said « we have to visit it ! ».
We can now remember the 17th of September as the date we finally did it.
While driving we already knew it was a beautiful place. But honestly, it was even more incredible when we visite dit : narrow cobble streets with authentic old buildings, the stoned bridge, the stunning church and the castle, owned by our former president Valery Giscard d’Estaing. Unfortunately, the castle was closed. I would have loved to see inside !
We ate traditional Aligot (typical meal from that part of France, which is a mix between melted cheese and smashed potatoes) at « Aux Armes d’Estaing » which was a good restaurant, the waitress was welcoming.
We couldn’t stay too long as we had to be at our friend’s place that day. I wouldn’t mind to go again to visit the castle !
I am wearing a vintage top that I can’t properly dated and I adore how the bright orange matches perfectly with the blue embroideries flowers ; a vintage bag from 50s and both vintage skirt and jacket from the designer Lilli Ann. My shoes are from Bagllerina.
By the way, if you wish to know more about Lilli Ann, my advice is to read the Guest Post written by Joanna on Chronically Vintage : Lilli Ann.
